Based on some feedback, I'm thinking of changing them to one of the following:
Option 1:
C/SS
1B/3B
2B/CF
LF/RF
SP/RP
or
Option 2:
C/SS
1B/LF
2B/3B
CF/RF
SP/RP
I'm leaning towards Option 2 - what do you think?

Currently, the positions are grouped as follows:C/1B

I agree option 2--conventional wisdom is anyone can play 1st and lf is the easiest outfield position to fill. C/SS should be the hardest to find a superstar at so you may draft high in one and low in the otherScottP

Catching and 3rd base have a lot in common, both requiring strong arms, quick release and reaction fielding as opposed to "range". It also seems to me that a lot of High School/College catchers end up as 3B not SS.

As long as C/SS are together and SP/RP are together, I'm fine. Most leagues require a real C and SS's are hard to make if you don't have one.

I vote for the 2nd group as well. Although I like the LF/RF group in choice-1, I think the positive of the 2B/3B group of choice-2 outweighs it. Also IMO LF/1B is better than 1B/3B.

So since there wasn't a lot of opposition to this and a decent number of people agreed, I've gone ahead and made that change for future drafts.

I like the 2nd choice for a few reasons. I think C and SS are the 2 positions that are toughest to convert someone too. 2B/3B are about equal in difficulty. And 1B/LF can be interchangeable a lot of times.So since there wasn't a lot of opposition to this and a decent number of people agreed, I've gone ahead and made that change for future drafts.
