What an exciting 7 game series:
Game 1: 1-0 pitchers duel, shutout
Game 2: 0 runs after the bottom of the 1st, shutout
Game 3: 23 total runs scored
Game 4: 1-run game until the bottom of the 8th
Game 5: 6-run top of the 9th!
Game 6: Top of the 1st grand slam
Game 7: 3-run top of the 9th to tie, only to be thwarted by a walk-off single in the bottom of the 9th.
It doesn't get much better than that!

And of course there is always some ABE irony... Greg Whittaker, who just put hit second Fireman award and 6th all-star reserve awards on the shelf had a solid 1.78 WHIP, 7.00 ERA allowing 7 earned runs over 9 innings in the playoffs, including 5 runs in 5 innings in the world series. Can't win em all :lol:~Corey

The last fun fact of the Chicago season, was that of the 25 major leagues who were rostered for the playoffs, 56% were acquired during the 1990 season. I think that makes for the most aggressive player movement to date for me :).~Corey

Congrats to you as well Corey, fantastic series! You made so many moves early on and they clearly paid dividends right away. That makes 3 in a row somehow, but I don't think ABE is going to shine on this team with declines to allow for 4. Will try though!

I've been a long-time fan of "either build for youth or build for rings, but don't build for both." This team I went a bit extreme, really going for the ring this year. I'm not sure how the aging will go, but I have a feeling Chicago won't be as good next year :D.Congrats on 3 in a row, that's not easy, especially in a 24-team league!
