Very Odd

September 17, 2015 at 05:49AM View BBCode

I was looking at Brooklyn's roster today and noticed he had [url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=11583129&statsorimps=past]Tyler Smith[/url] on his team. I didn't remember trading Tyler Smith to him so I investigated a bit further. Allegedly, when Tyler Smith was 24 and a-/b+, I designated him for assignment.

I'm pretty sure that this was not intentional. I may have been drinking. Still, very weird that I somehow dumped this player... I mean, who dumps a a-/b+ 24 year old pitcher?

Ugh.

I just returned him. I don't play that way and would be happy to have returned him on the day he was waived.

Rich - you didn't have to accept the trade but it is appreciated. I probably need to cut back on my adult beverages while on the SD website.

Brooklyn had him for 3 seasons???? Then u just get him back and give Brooklyn crap players? What kind of a league is this??? I may not be able to be a part of a corrupt league where a team 20 games out in front just gets handed a big pitcher!!! What the hell???

I have to agree with Bonds on this one.I can understand accidentaly waving a guy then saying something asap but after that long of a time period. It is not right.

First of all, the trade we made was fair in its own right. Second, Tyler Smith sucks. Third, I'm not even using him. Fourth, I can barely pay attention to my 9 games a day league. 36 is something I'm still getting used to.

I said something as soon as I noticed it.

First I hope the question is timing rather than my morality. I started (literally the first member) of this league and served as the commish on several occasions. In a week a year league things happen. If jobs, travel and illness (and other parts of real life) become difficult during a particular week or two (whole seasons) than these things might happen. I am proud to be understanding in such situations and would do it again for any colleague in the league. I, however, will gladly leave and the league can redistribute my club.

no need to insult people.. He is 5-3 as your 4th starter!

This actually illustrates my point. He is/was my fifth starter but I had one of my SPs go out on injury for 23 days and thus Tyler got bumped up to my 4th SP spot. It has since been fixed.

This league moves so fast. With four kids, two of whom are 3 months old, everything is a blur.

It's really a moot point. I inadvertently cut Tyler. As soon as I noticed, I mentioned it on the MB. Once I did, the owner who picked him up for free (!) said he'd be glad to return him to my team since it was a mistake. I said ok, but at least take something in return.

Rich should be given props for his awesomeness.

Let's dial it down here guys. I've been in many leagues with rich and do not doubt his sincerity. There is absolutely no "corruption" here. It's quite the opposite, this is a great example of good sportsmanship. If we were playing for big money or world series tickets I might feel differently, but we're here for the fun and a little escape from the daily grind.

all i am saying is that it will be damn near impossible to compete with minnesota as it is.. And this pitcher is not awful.. he is 5-3 and stands a great chance to be a 20 game pitcher down the line..

Guess I will rebuild next year. Everyone over 26 is available from Detroit after this season...
