Play offs, Good Luck Guys

January 08, 2014 at 12:18PM View BBCode

Good luck to all play off teams. I do not think I have eve seen final standings where 7, that is SEVEN, teams won at least 100 games. I feel bad for those who are not in, but I must sat, "Well done Guys,"

... for the Tsunami.

We get into the playoffs as much as St. Louis gets hit with a Tsunami!

I think I might have won a WS at one time, many long years ago!

Don't think I can get past Chicago, but will try!!!

Off to an exciting start in the LCS. St. Louis, with their backs to the wall, down by one run with two outs in the top of the ninth, get a game winning home run from Bill Duffy to tie the series at one game apiece.

In the AL, well...those guys who won 132 games just keep on rolling. Up 2-0.

It's about a guy named Duffy! 2-run HR in the eighth inning of game 3 lifts St.L to a 2 games to 1 lead.

Looking back at history, the last time St. Louis won the WS was in 1996. Interestingly, the last five times St. Louis and Chicago met in the playoffs was 1996 - 2000, with St. Louis winning each and every time!

Both series are at 3 games to 2 with St. Louis and Minnesota holding the edge. Baltimore claws back with 2 consecutive wins after being embarrassed in the first 3 games.

Keepin' it alive...

This ST. L / Chi series has to be one of the most exciting in recent times. Chicago, down 3-1 with 2 outs in the bottom of the ninth rallies to tie the series at 3 games apiece.

In the meantime, the favorites in the AL polished off Baltimore to advance to the WS for the second year in a row.

Spell it D-U-F-F-Y. A two run banger in game 7 makes the difference in Stl.'s 5-3 victory. King Duffy wins three games with his long ball propelling the Tsunami into the World Series for the first time in 60 year!

By the way, since St.L was missing Gutierrez and Parris due to injuries. George Compton appeared in all 7 games with an ERA of 0.96. Well done George!!!

One last stat. The Tsunami's Scipio Collins with FOURTEEN hits in a seven game series. that absolutely has to be a record. That is phenomenal.

Had some nice performances at the right time and am surprised that somehow we got past Chi!

Thanks Duffy, for your clutch HR's! Not to mention Scipio Collins and others.

I like the view right now, but...... maybe short lived, as.....

Minnesota is another story!!!!

World Series:

Stl. takes the opener but Minn roars back to grab the next 3 games. The Tsunami need a tsunami to overcome the reigning champs.

St. Louis claws back in game 5. Interestingly, David Kish was bombed in the LCS and has pitched beautifully in the WS. Minn likes right handed pitching better than lefties, that might be the reason.

3 runs in the top of the ninth lifts Stl. to a 5-4 victory in game 6. Can the Tsunami pull off the greatest upset of the past 100 years???

Stay tuned for game 7 !!!

Well, if that was the most exciting game 7 I have ever seen!!! For those of you who didn't see it, watch it live. Congrats to the champs (I won't say who for those who want to watch it live).
