Jake Hawkins, my OS39 Catcher, has probably wrapped up his 17 year career. During that career, he has played in the playoffs 16 times and won only one World Series. That means that 15 times, his season has ended with a playoff loss. That must be an all-time record.August 04, 2012 at 12:38AM View BBCode
I have been through stretches like this. I have two possible explanations. 1) it has always appeared to me that newer franchises have a better chance in the playoffs. 2) you are an owner that tries to win every season, never truly rebuilding in a major way and acquiring elite talent from the top of the draft.August 04, 2012 at 02:15AM View BBCode
There is a system in salary leagues in which teams are rewarded for always trying to win. Its called prestige. It takes that last 5 years and averages them together. Teams with higher prestige have a better chance of signing free agents. Just like in real baseball, teams that have a history of winning (higher prestige) usually attract more free agents.August 04, 2012 at 10:59AM View BBCode
At the very least, it is bad luck. Your situation can be compared to the Atlanta Braves under Bobby Cox --- a decade and a half of playoff appearances with only one title. All this being said, your overall success is still amazing!!!Pages: 1
