Even though I fell a game short for the second straight year, I must state that 2047 was a great AL pennant race. Four teams bouncing all around the last couple days - all four of them were in first place at some point during that time. Sure beats a season with 12 game spreads between 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. Good luck to Texas and Boston in the playoffs and happy hunting during the off-season.August 31, 2011 at 07:03PM View BBCode
It was a good race. Though it killed me inside a little bit.August 31, 2011 at 09:32PM View BBCode
Yeah, in a race that close those (us) that wind up on the outside looking in can agonize over the little things that went wrong. Like in Game 160 when I did not realize that my 23 yr old 64 pitcher was going to wind up trying to close out a 1-run lead (closer was tired). Or the game I lost 12-11 in 13 innings after taking a 1-run lead in the top of the 10th, a 2-run lead in the top of the 12th and a 1-run lead in the top of the 13th! Etc, etc, etc. Even though this is all make believe, this game still carries with it the "Agony of Defeat" that Wide World of Sports so aptly named.August 31, 2011 at 10:28PM View BBCode
I blame my closer and his 7.24 ERA. And of course the Sim Gods.Pages: 1
