OK, Baseball peeps: I've been offered ATL 1B Freddy Freeman & MIL OF Corey Hart for KC 1B Billy Butler in a 16 team 25 player all keeper league. I'd likely just turn around and try to deal Hart. My team is in 2nd to last and I am building for the future. Should I take the hit in plate discipline in favor of youth and what I can get in trade for Hart? Which package should I want, Butler, or Freeman and Hart? Discuss (and please, make it quick, I kinda want to act on this today).

Lemme ask you this: if you had Jason Bartlett as your best SS option, and had both Votto and Adrian Gonzalez, and were offered Berkman and Alexei Ramirez for one of them, would you take it?

NO ONE. That's the problem with this league; when I started it in 2002, I thought, "wouldn't it be cool to do a 16 team, 25 player league in which you keep EVERYBODY?" The answer: No, no it wouldn't be, because the waiver wire is a barren dustbowl. We do a draft every winter for players not on someone's roster and guys like Bryce Harper and Mike Moustakas are drafted and roster spots are being held for them before they ever reach the majors. The best hitter on the wire right now is Juan Pierre (according to Yahoo's ranking system). Part of the reason my team is doing so poorly is half my team was or is on the DL (Soto, Nishioka, Hamilton, Chapman, Jenks) and half of it is not yet in the majors (Tyler Flowers, Dayan Viciedo, Tanner Scheppers, Jennry Mejia). Votto should get you berkman AND ramirez..mebbe throw him something inconsecquential just to secure the player/players..berkman got a couple years in himhe wont kill you..his power is offf a bit because hes coming back from injury..but still hittin at a 350 clip.i might consider dumping volquez for say a Eric Young..but hes prolly gone already..or mebbe juan miranda of AZ

Just wanted to be sure. I am actually the one trying to land Votto, just wanted to make sure I wasn't making an unreasonable request. The other owner, however, didn't see it that way, and has declined to trade EITHER Votto OR Gonzalez.

ya..i hear ya on that..ill take over any dead teams if the commish wants a lil more action from his owners.iil hit up in U2U with a few names..somw deep sleepers for mebbe 2012...winning at a 79 percent clip after managing 23 with 12 trophys won..now if ABE would behave himself for a bit..lolPages: 1
