For me, since watching in my lifetime, it's Pedro Martinez, being a red sox fan I might be a little biased but I really dont think so, the guy was unbelievable everytime he took the mound, he could walk the bases loaded on purpose, then throw 9 straight strikes to K the side, what's everyone else think? whos been the best pitcher when they were in their prime?April 02, 2009 at 08:41PM View BBCode
could pedro handle the volcanoes the way greg maddux could?April 02, 2009 at 08:46PM View BBCode
Greg Maddux is the Chuck Norris of volcano slayers. Pedro is just a baseball player.April 02, 2009 at 08:46PM View BBCode

lol. i was just kidding. none of that stuff was ever pedro's fault. i mean, the games he lost in the playoffs with the mets, he gave up nothing, the hitters were trying to make him win 0-0 or something. he was never much of a whole game pitcher, it doesn't mean he wasn't a great pitcher.April 02, 2009 at 09:07PM View BBCode
I see. You were just being a dick (not that I disapprove, it's just important to know where we all stand. I mean, I think it's kind of silly to call someone like Pedro out for something he didn't do, but very plausibly could have, but if that's your thing, more power to you.)April 02, 2009 at 09:10PM View BBCode
well, i don't actually know pedro. if he read this forum, he would probably grab me by the head and throw me down. even though i actually think he is awesome.April 02, 2009 at 09:19PM View BBCode
In my lifetime...Maddux & Pedro. But overall....Walter Johnson. No one won more while pitching for a losing team. Imagine if he played for McGraw or Mack. That 417 would be a lot higher.April 02, 2009 at 09:39PM View BBCode
I saw Pedro pitch a lot of time at the Olympic Stadium and he was the best pitcher that I have seen. He was a god over here in Montreal and then we got Vladimir Guerrero and all fans fall in love with himApril 03, 2009 at 01:02AM View BBCode
Pedro's best season was in 2000. 18-6, ERA of 1.74, 11.8 K/9, 1.3 BB/9, WHIP of 0.74.April 03, 2009 at 01:22AM View BBCode

Who am I? Only I alone will ever know. Actually just a regular guy that works a 9 to 5.April 04, 2009 at 07:01PM View BBCode
Pedro has done that actually, walked bases loaded then K'd the side, and no I can't give exact examples I just know he's done it many times, but at the same time was a great control pitcher too.April 07, 2009 at 12:07AM View BBCode
Statistically, Pedro Martinez has the best 3-4 year span for a pitcher in major league history.April 07, 2009 at 12:26AM View BBCode

Sandy Koufax '63 to '66! (Yes, all those others deserve consideration as well.)
