Well I am still in this thing with one of my entries. I need to decide between 2 choices this week. Either GB over ATL, or PHI over WAS. I have to send in my pick by end of today, so I'm not sure if I'll know the Aaron Rodgers injury status by then.October 02, 2008 at 02:36PM View BBCode
(I think) I like GB without Rodgers better than any of those 3. But let's go through them...October 02, 2008 at 02:45PM View BBCode
PHI/WAS is a coin flip, I certainly would never consider that one.October 02, 2008 at 02:47PM View BBCode
I'd go with Tampa Bay. Denver has been decent in their offense, but TB should be able to slow them down. The Denver defense should make Brian Griese look like Joe Montana reborn. They could score 40...October 02, 2008 at 02:48PM View BBCode
TB in Mile High? I wouldn't take any road team at Mile High...October 02, 2008 at 02:53PM View BBCode
What's wrong with taking the Saints? That's not a coin flip game, the line is way too low.October 02, 2008 at 03:01PM View BBCode
I used Buffalo already too.October 02, 2008 at 03:23PM View BBCode
The feeling up here is that NE is going to dominate SF. They have one concern on D and that's Willis...if we can control him, we should be able to score no problem. Maroney may be out for this game, but we still have Morris and Jordan, so we're not worried about the run game. Nobody at all in the media up here thinks SF can win.October 02, 2008 at 03:25PM View BBCode
Ah yes, the famously objective Boston media. Anybody who thinks that the Niners can't win at home against this Patriots team is not thinking clearly.October 02, 2008 at 03:26PM View BBCode
What's funny is that almost ALL of the Boston media picked the Angels in the ALDS...so much for objective, huh?October 02, 2008 at 03:34PM View BBCode
I think that the GB defense is a lot better than they are given credit for. ATL isn't horrible, but they aren't great either, and they have a young QB playing on the road in Lambeau. It isn't as imposing as it would be in ... Nov/Dec ... but still. I like GB to win, with or without Rodgers.October 02, 2008 at 03:37PM View BBCode
I don't think I want to pick a MNF game either, too unpredictable - guys who normally don't give 100% step up since the game is on national TV.October 02, 2008 at 03:41PM View BBCode
Going against your alma mater huh? We'll see if that ends up being a good decision...October 02, 2008 at 03:41PM View BBCode

Yeah, I went against Ryan last week too. It will bite me at some point, I'm sure.October 02, 2008 at 03:52PM View BBCode
nice. Well good luck and for your sake, I hope ATL and NE lose so I don't have to say "I told you so." :)October 02, 2008 at 04:28PM View BBCode

The Angels are the best team in baseball and have the most well-rounded team in the game. There's nothing that would point to the Sox winning this series other than their history in the playoffs against the Angels...though it is just that, history. This is a different Angels team and a different Sox team.October 02, 2008 at 05:44PM View BBCode
The Angels have the worst run differential of any of the AL playoff teams, and are also behind the Phils and the Cubs. On the other hand, the only playoff team with a better run differential than the Red Sox are the Cubs. So the lesson here appears to be, the Boston media has no idea what it's talking about.October 02, 2008 at 05:53PM View BBCode
who cares about run differential over 162 games in a short series? Doesn't mean censored . The teams with the best pitching are going to win, hands down. Most of the time, teams with the best bullpens win. I'd say the Angels fall into this category.October 02, 2008 at 05:55PM View BBCode

I knew you would twist my words somehow. Point is, you could have a +400 differential over the season, but the team you play may have a couple stud pitchers and a shutdown bullpen...you have a good shot at losing. It's a short series.
