why does he stand there admiring his HR when it still leaves the sox 4 runs down in the game and facing a 3-1 series defecit?October 17, 2007 at 04:39AM View BBCode
Simple explanation...........Its manny being manny! Sigh, Sox sure seem to celebrate at interesting times. If game 5 gets out of hand I bet manny will get one in the ear, playoffs or not.October 17, 2007 at 04:55AM View BBCode
yeah i assumed that no one got one today as it was a playoff game. would they store that up until the regular season in '08 and plunk him then?October 17, 2007 at 05:30PM View BBCode
maybe because the two guys before him hit homers and he was looking to see if his was longer.October 17, 2007 at 05:39PM View BBCode
I do agree that it was out of place and he probably shouldn't have done it. But in Manny's defense, it was the 3rd HR in the back to back to back. I don't see why it's a big deal anyway, players celebrate in every other sport.October 17, 2007 at 05:49PM View BBCode
Does "standing and admiring your home run" really count as celebrating? Football players don't usually stand around looking at the ball after they catch a touchdown.October 17, 2007 at 05:55PM View BBCode

Football players generally act dumb and occasionally its amusing. I'd rather have Manny make you feel like a dumbass, thats more entertaining to me. Get over it.October 17, 2007 at 08:58PM View BBCode
I was never under it. Baseball players already celebrate home runs, in the dugout. The Red Sox especially have a whole bunch of elaborate hugs and handshakes and various homoerotic poses every time something good happens. To add one of those "let's admire our home run" poses on top of all that is a total dick move.October 17, 2007 at 09:19PM View BBCode
I'm offended by the way NFL kickers watch their field goals sail through the uprights. Those pricks should keep their heads down and run straight to the bench. Don't even get me started about their prissy head buts with the holder. Those bitches...October 17, 2007 at 09:29PM View BBCode
I just think Manny was juiced after seeing the first two go out and then hitting the absolute tar out of one himself. He just crushed that pitch.October 17, 2007 at 09:39PM View BBCode

I mean, getting a sack does not result in points (unlike HRs and TDs)...and sometimes, it does not even end the current drive/possession. What's there to celebrate???

Despite his impressive counting stats, I think "Manny being Manny" is going to cost him some HOF votes.

i have no problem with showboating when its a walkoff shot or a game changer but the one today meant nothing... what a tool.

Where's the outrage over Victor Martinez barely walking around the bases? Despite his admiration of his homer, Manny actually circled the bases faster...maybe Victor should get one in the ear, too.October 23, 2007 at 03:23PM View BBCode
