(thank you voters for not putting in biggioin the same class as two great, great players like Maddux and Thomas.)

lolz. i didn't want to say that, and start up some kind of "greatest second baseman" nonsense. just because the position has been historically populated by dwarves, it is supposed to give a ticket to a thing like biggio, which is more of an overgrown dwarf that could hit better than Mazerowski or whoever and played for a very long time.January 08, 2014 at 08:33PM View BBCode
I think there is something to be said for longetivity. that's a hard thing to do. but it doesn't get you into the hof automatically. it shouldn't, anyway.January 08, 2014 at 08:40PM View BBCode
oh its awesome, biggio was a good player. but he shouldn't be HOF for getting to 3000, you should be [size=72]G[/size]reat. but, they have a bunch of [size=1]g[/size]oods that got in for 3000, so there you go.January 09, 2014 at 02:34AM View BBCode

I respect craig biggio. he was a good (or at least effective) player at three very different positions in the majors. that in itself is an accomplishment. he won 4 or 5 gold gloves at 2B after coming up as a catcher. that's not easy. he had a lot of hits, scored a lot of runs and stole a pile of bases. his numbers probably should get him in. but for me there's just something missing. there is more to the hall of fame than just numbers, imo. and whatever that something is, craig biggio doesn't have it.January 10, 2014 at 05:55AM View BBCode
I'm a pretty big numbers guy, but I do understand your arguement. In real life he is gonna get in though because 3,000 hits = HoF, like it or not.January 10, 2014 at 02:33PM View BBCode
yeah, the problem with the numbers is the retarded number will get him in.January 10, 2014 at 05:28PM View BBCode
The Raines and Bagwell situations truly piss me off, and Edgar to a lesser degree.January 10, 2014 at 05:33PM View BBCode
yeah, he is alright and all. its just a shame he will get in and they hose folks like bagwell that were truly great. raines should just plain be in, the voters are just dumb.January 10, 2014 at 05:51PM View BBCode

i was hoping i was not throwing bagwell under the bus. he should have been voted in on his first try. he was the complete, crazy, awesome.January 13, 2014 at 02:49AM View BBCode
I don't think either Raines or Edgar make it and I think Bagwell is less than a 50/50 proposition now.January 13, 2014 at 03:22AM View BBCode
Oh I know that none of them WILL make it, but they SHOULD make it.Pages: 1 2
