The Yanks kicked the AAA Columbus Clippers to the curb last week, after 28 seasons. Had a chance to grab AAA Scranton, and they did it. In about a weeks time, my hometown Clippers signed on with the Nats. So, I guess I'll be able to watch the 2008 or 2009 World Champs playing and maturing in good old Cooper Stadium.

It looks like the O's are going to end up with the Norfolk Tides, with the Lynx moving to Allentown and shifting to the Phillies AAA affiliate. A lot of AAA movement this offseason.

So that leaves the Mets where? If Washington's AAA affiliate moves to the IL, that leaves New Orleans in the PCL for the Mets.More shuffling in store?

The Mets will pick up the Zephyrs.
The O's pick up the Tides.
The Lynx move to Allentown and become the Phillies' AAA affiliate.
The Yankees pick up the Red Barons.
The Clippers become the Nats AAA team.
The completes the circle (since the Nats were using the Zephyrs).

Picking up Norfolk (since the Nationals are the closest team and the faraway Braves are the 2nd closest) would seem to make more sense than Columbus, but it looks like everything's already been done.The Nationals still need to find a replacement for the Vermont Expos, err, Lake Monsters, their A affiliate.

Norfolk to Atlanta is 596 miles.
Closer than Atlanta to Norfolk are:
Baltimore 240 miles
Philadelpha 270 miles
New York 359 miles
Pittsburgh 431 miles
Boston 574 miles
That, for those who are counting, that would be 6 teams closer than Atlanta.

Ahh, I meant that it's in the other direction from DC, and the Braves have a monopoly over the South.

I already knew this but didn't put it all together till now. Tim freaking Foli is the manager for the Nats AAA team. Looks like he could be here in Columbus managing the Hometown Heros!Pages: 1
