NFC Championship ATL@PHI

January 17, 2005 at 02:02AM View BBCode

I don't know as much about these two teams so I'm just going off 2nd hand knowledge. This one is a total tossup to me. Philly has a great D and a solid QB and RB to go along with the fact they are near impossible to beat at home.

Atlanta clearly has a better team than Minn. all around better D and all. Vick is the X factor here, he makes plays that no human should be able to. Also you have to keep in mind that Atlanta was the 1st eam to EVER win a playoff game at Lambeau Field so I don't think that playing at Philadelphia would bother them.

I really don't know, but I'm gonna pull for Philly so TO can have a shot at beating the Pats.

Whichever team makes it will beat up on the Pats

Brian Westbrook looked like the NFL equilvalent of USC's Reggie Bush in that game. It took MINN's best corner and defender, Antoine Winfield, to contain him. Philly has a much better run defense and pass defense than STL. I think that Jevon Kearse is probably the only lineman athletic enough to have a pray of containing Vick. Jeremiah Trotter and Cory Simon will make it very tough on Warrick Dunn and T.J. Duckett in the running game. Dawkins and co. in the secondary will make passing very difficult for Vick who is pretty inaccurate. 3 of the 4 starters in Philly's secondary are Pro Bowlers. Vick historically struggles with top defenses and Philly is ranked 10th in the league this year and played even better since Trotter took over at MLB midway through the season. Philly by a touchdown.

Of course, Jetpac and I are assuming the Pats beat the Steelers. But you know what they say about assumptions

I want whichever team that the public thinks can beat the Pats. I want to hear no excuses.

After seeing both NFC games though, the Falcons look like the better team.

Don't bet on the Eagles in an NFC championship game, and don't ever bet against Michael Vick.

I'm expecting the Pats to win their 3rd outta 4

Im hoping Atlanta wins the Superbowl because I despise the Steelers and Eagles and the Boston teams have been winning too much lately:P

One story I haven't seen written about: the Super Bowl will include 1 quarterblack, the first I can remember in years, in fact I can't think of any since Doug Williams. This used to be a HUGE issue, when I was younger people talked about it all the time. Now, it doesn't matter so much, and no one really assumes that a honky has a better shot just because of his color. Either way I'm rooting for the black guy, McNabb or Vick, although I'd like to see Vick because at least that way a Hokie might actually WIN SOMETHING.

Haha. I don't care much about this game, I just want whoever wins this game to beat whoever wins the AFC because I like both teams a little. I think Philly will win, though.

Even though Philly put 27 points, all kinds of yards, etc., etc., it was against the Vikings and their piss-poor defense. Atlanta has one of the better defenses in the league. However, they are significantly better at stopping the run than the pass. McNabb could very well have a field day picking apart the Atlanta secondary. That is, if Westbrook, Mitchell, and Stinkston can all put up the same effort they did against the Vikings. If so, the Eagles FINALLY win the NFC championship game.

Then they wait for the AFC winner and get their asses kicked. Sorry, no Willis Reed from T.O.:P

Which is depressing, being a Philly fan.:(

I'll be rooting for the Falcons. Vick is just too fun to watch and he doesn't get on TV enough. Oh, and the fact that I can't stand TO.

Eagles sack Vick four times, intercept him twice, and win by 10.
