Options:
Keep 9/1 reveal - It's tradition! Also keeps the influence of the draft class out of pre-deadline negotiations.
Move reveal to 8/1 - Allows buyer/sellers to have a better understanding of the value of their draft picks when performing mid-season trades.
Move reveal to between opening day and 8/1 - This catches all the dates between the start of the year and 8/1. Some have thrown 7/1 out as an option. Same advantage as 8/1, just opens that window of knowing the value of draft picks earlier. If this option wins, we'll have to expand the lists of options - I'm trying not to muddle them too much on this vote

I like the idea of having the draft class in mind when dealing draft picks. This should help facilitate some deals which is only a good thing in my mind. And the earlier the better! I don't see a downside to having the draft always available other than making August a really interesting month with a 8/1 reveal.

In the other thread, I talked about moving the date to the earliest possible. I think it's more in line with how real drafts work. In an ideal state, the ranks would change over time and get fixed at a certain later date, but that's just my pipe dream.I like the idea of having the draft class in mind when dealing draft picks. This should help facilitate some deals which is only a good thing in my mind. And the earlier the better! Heading that way but it won't happen until next year at the earliest. Of the customization to this league, none have happened mid-season. I do that to owners who haven't voted on the HOF and it is impressive how fast people vote after a u2u message, you think that all owners read all the threads but it is not always the case, also some owner might have read it and forget to vote.

Looks like as early as possible is our winner. Two votes are uncast and its 6 to 4 with moving to 8/1 as the second choice.Any strong objections to moving the draft reveal to the earliest date? And does anyone know when that is?

i think the change will have to happen in the offseason. there's no opposition to moving it up, though there is a healthy contingent that only wants it at 8/1. I don't remember what I voted for. I'm sure nobody will be too hurt by whatever we decide. I'm game for anything, maybe 7/1 would be a good place to land.

Since the vote is 6 to 5, I think meeting the middle makes sense. This is obviously something we can revisit after a couple of seasons.

In the other thread I recommended 7/2 (the halfway point of the seasons), but what is a sim day among friends! I am good with anytime earlier...

the class would actually be revealed on league date 7/2. It would be something like "11pm after league reaches 7/1", and 7/1 is an off day, so after Game 81, the calendar moves to 7/2 and we'd see the class later that day. If we picked 7/2, we wouldn't see the class until after Game 84.
