The Next Big Controversy. Maybe.

Your 1-4 spots in your rotation must be filled with pitchers that have "B" or better endurance. Starting with the 1971 season, no pitcher with endurance below a "C" may be in the rotation.
When I drafted Tom Lowdermilk back in 2143 I remember making the comment that I hoped he would become a starting pitcher. In fact, the Google Doc still says that in the comment field.
Well, this year his Endurance leveled up to become a C+ Endurance SP.
I make a motion that we allow SP with C+ Endurance to slot anywhere within a team's rotation, restricting RP with C+/C Endurance to the 5th slot, per the rule above.
Can I get a second?
And then discussion. If no second, the motion will be denied.

I've been vexed by this rule over the years myself.
One thing it did prevent was someone loading up a rotation with relievers and creating wacky outcomes.
I'll second the motion for the discussion of the modification, which is pretty darn reasonable.

It would be fine with me. Do we limit the number of C endurance pitchers in the starting rotation to one?

To be clear we're talking two types of C's. 1. The C plus guy where it actually states that he's an SP on his card. 2. All other C pitchers.
So the rotation could theoretically have 5 C's, the type 1 in spots 1-4 and type 2 in the 5th spot... unless I'm missing something.

No, you have the right of it, Baskets ... but the first four would *have* to be labeled SP while the #5 slot could be filled with a C or C+ RP.
I believe that C+ SP are fairly rare birds and I can't see anyone intentionally stockpiling them for the purpose of tanking, which is what the original rule attempts to thwart.
I believe this modification would be reasonably safe.

I am ok with it. The player card says SP, they are an SP in my book. It's only one number for endurance (51), and chances are if we let them play then they will get an endurance improve and get to B- anyways the next season

I think this would be a good addition.

So I would suggest we modify the language of this rule to read:
"Your starting rotation may only carry *one* pitcher rated C+ Endurance, and a RP with a C or C+ Endurance rating may only be slotted as the #5 starter."

Based on prior attempts to modify the rules, this should be put to a vote. If not unanimous it should not be allowed.

Okay Okay I'll say it... how can we enforce a rule with "C+" endurance as a thing when we still have blind rankings (even thought I can make arguments for why we shouldn't)
That particular rule is a similar rule to the 3rd round steal rule and the vet rule which should probably be in some way up for discussion.
During mid season next year I am going to be putting up a discussion forum to talk about these topics and many more until we can all come to a consensus.
This league is too good to have inefficient rules.

Ah. Yes. Good point.
Since a player *must* be C+ (51 points, as Chris points out) to be called a SP by ABE, that's why I used C+ in my proposed version of the language. Let me modify that a bit, and we can police each other --> whenever you look at another team's roster, make a note of any pitcher in rotation with C Endurance and check whether they are labeled a SP or a RP. If RP, they should only be in the fifth slot.
Revised proposed language:
"Your starting rotation may only carry *one* pitcher rated C Endurance, and if a RP with C Endurance rating, that player may only be slotted as the #5 starter."

I like the way it was just phrased by Ballmark. However, I'd like to see that same SP able to be slotted in at #4 for the playoffs. .
I'm of the opinion that any change in rules during a season must be unanimous but that there should be a (still high but) lower standard for changing rules between seasons, or at least at re-upping times.
The steal rule should either disappear or fairly compensate the stealee.
This league is great!

I think that would be appropriate. I certainly have had an issue with the rule as written before, and I've certainly seen some very good C+ stamina starting pitchers be forced to stay in relief or as the 5th starter.

Do we want to vote on this before the season begins?
Revised proposed language:
