There are 2 different formulas that leagues use for calculating individual player Mentoring. The default formula is used by most leagues and in all Dynasty and Trial Leagues. This is called System 1. System 2 is a slight modification of System 1 and uses a player value formula rather than overall rating as the component in the formula. Power and Offense in general is weighted more heavily in the player value component verses the total rating formula. For pitchers, Control is more important than Velocity in the player value component It also weighs leadership less than System 1 does. The end result of this is that players who were never any good will not be great mentors under system 2. You might be able to find a career waiver wire guy who is a C+ in Mentoring, but you will have a tougher time finding an A+ guy.May 29, 2016 at 02:59PM View BBCode
I like System 2 for Player Mentoring and System 2 for Team Mentoring. Both will encourage teams to stay relatively competitive by keeping good pitchers and hitters in their starting lineups for mentoring. This will also, i believe, discourage tanking.June 04, 2016 at 06:10PM View BBCode
I like system 2 for players and team mentoring, pretty much for the same reasons mentioned by brady.June 23, 2016 at 09:39PM View formatted
