tough league

March 15, 2016 at 05:49PM View BBCode

I'm amazed that the last couple of years my team just can't get ahead in the standings. I'm not expecting to be at the top but 2nd or 3rd place was totally expected and I keep falling short.

Some tough competition in this league!! wtf

This league is one where all know what they are doing, I think it ranked near the top in Paul's study a few years ago, it is not easy!!! That is what makes it the most fun, also the rules keep us honest as well...

lol we designed it to be tough! pretty much every owner in the league was personally invited based on their proven skills. this is quite possibly the single toughest league on site, in terms of owner talent.

It is the toughest! Satyr I have felt the same way. I could not figure out how my team continues to be in the middle of the pack. Then I looked at the lineups and rotations of other teams and I now understand.

I think the most telling thing that shows the strength of the league is that there has not been a trade protest in years because evreyone knows what they are doing. In fact I do not even know if you can still protest a trade because this is the only league I will play in.

Still waiting for the Highlanders to turn the corner. Expecting a .500 team soon and then ABE deals my star shortstop a F leader score for his 28th birthday...so much for him being a mentor for the next wave. Then Tabor got injured for 21 days, he's 1 day from returning and 23yr old 3B Jim Burkett goes down for 44! Top it off with today's injury to Bill Foucault, the pitcher with half of the Highlander wins, for 38 days...it just hasn't been a good month in the Rockies.

This is a tough league, in Charm City we made some trades to help bolster our rotation and lineup and keep the good mentor score, then we promptly went 5-19 to start the season.

Now somehow we have won 6 games in a row (it seems like forever since that has happened) and we have some hope, man it would be great just to be competitive.

I think if we can finish with 75 (or more) wins that would be like winning the series!!

It's refreshing to see some different teams contending.

We have Brooklyn and Florida in the NL and Chicago in AL.

It will become more difficult every year to stay on top!

If the next 40 games don't go any better than the last 40 games, I may have to reboot the rebuild.........

Not sure why, but I just looked at my Owner Card. I noticed this in my long term leagues...

Billy Williams League 34 seasons .604 winning pct
Dale Murphy League 27 seasons .594 winning pct
Derek Jeter League 24 seasons .568 winning pct
Brett Butler League 15 seasons .597 winning pct
CPBL 25 seasons .508 winning pct

This is definitely a "tough league."
