It would be nice if there is a fix here.
I know there has been some talking about resetting the league, but I'm not for that. I think I'm within 3 seasons of a huge run (that I've worked toward for 6 seasons) and I don't want to start over. At the end of the day, we're all at an equal disadvantage in terms of poor talent. The way to win is still the same - assemble better talent than your opponents.

Yeah, I'm not sure what the issue is. The talent level is what it is. It's the same for everyone. You acquire the marginally more talented players, you win. You don't, you lose. The overall "level" seems meaningless.
Honestly, I'm not sure the talent level is noticeably off to begin with. Extreme rebuilding strategies will mean inferior players appear in games. But the talent on the WW is higher than in most leagues I've participated in, including other System 3 leagues with no variable development.

I really don't see the issue with the players in this league, but I don't really look outside of the league I am playing in to compare what we have to others. All I know is that because of the type of development setting this league has, I can take what would be a crummy player in any other league that assigns CPs or whatever, pick them up off the wire in their late teens or early 20's and with a little luck turn them into a serviceable A- player.
Current Exhibit A: http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?player=nobody&mode=stats&id=11495394
Current Exhibit B: http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?player=nobody&mode=stats&id=11462064
Anyone can do this with a little patience and a couple minutes of looking through the wire at the right times...

Guess 'reset' is open for individual interpetation, what am thinking is that ABE's improvement generation data would be reset to where it started in the 1950 season.
Thats why was asking if league talent level affects how ABE awards CPs and develops talent (aside from foreigners which we already know is affected by strength of league talent). If it does then talent levels are going to continue to decrease. Chris stated that for Sys 3 there should be an 'inflation'.
Was never my intention to trashcan rosters. Keep the players we have, just try and get things pointed in the right direction again. Its worth having Chris look into this.

Didn't even notice anything was wrong. In laymans terms someone want to explain it. Seems fine to me.

Welp.... not that you'd be aware or have a guilty consious (just ask the DWL guys who are rumbling about tanking to) but things are starting to add up to where 'Tanking' is causing a serious drain of talent in the GPL.

Am asking if league player strength affects player development and Am Draft pools for a reason:
The GPL's talent level has been decreasing for what seems like 30-40 seasons. Theres several owners that use the 'tank' method. What seems to be happening is that the draft pools have become so lousy (because of league talent weakness?) that there are only maybe 1-2 players each draft that are top prospects. These 'tank teams' usually fill the 1st couple spots in the draft and get the studs, the rest of the spots are filled with 'flyers'. It gotten to the point in the GPL that a 2nd round pick has just a good of chance as 'making it' than a mid 1st pick.
So if 'tank teams' low talent level decreases league talent level, which decreases league chances for player development and draft pools than thats not fair. Tank teams are not only getting the studs with the 1st picks in the draft, but hindering other draftees improvement chances further increasing the 'talent gap' between players within draft classes. I think its only fair that owners be made aware that lower league talent leads to lower player improvement and draft pool so stronger cases can be made for anti-tanking rules.
Also, I don't think it was the intention of SymDyn creators that tanking be prefered method of developing winning teams. Infact the vast majority of owners dont tank. Maybe SymDyn needs to chance how its handling 'tanking'. One recommendation is that for anti-tanking rules (less than 50 win penalty for draft slotting, etc.) make it so instead of having unacheivable high % of league wide votes needed for anti-taking rule implementation, turn the table and make it so high league wide approval would be needed so that 'anti-tanking' rules are NOT implemented.
With all the issues and debate SymDyn has had over the years, Anti-Tanking Rules should be the norm, not the exception.

One option for your league might be to hide plus/minuses grades for draftees. This would make it less likely that the top players are selected 1-2.

Not that am personally for that idea, would vote against if came to that. Things are already tough enough without doing +/- hides. Just passing on info.
