Check out the GNL board, where once again I fell into the trap of trying to use objective data when dealing with a New England sports fan .

He's talking about the footballs right ?
The headline is a little ambiguous .

Apparently the apologist retort du jour is "everyone does it" when it comes to the variety of ways in which the Patriots cheat. Color me less than impressed with that argument.

So the 243 page report has been published, how much did that cost ?, which determines that:
1) Yes the Patriots deflated the balls
2) Brady knew they were deflated "The report includes text messages between McNally and Jastremski that imply Brady was requesting footballs deflated below 12.5 pounds per square inch"
and yet
somehow "league investigators found no evidence that coach Bill Belichick and team management knew of the practice.", which just goes to show that Belichick and Kraft know how to do this shi
t better than anyone.
I wonder if indignant Robert Kraft is still demanding an apology ......... probably.

I think the best part is the report was released (coincidentally, I'm sure) after the draft, so any punishment in terms of draft picks can't be assessed until after next season.
I'm sure the response from the pats will be a massive shrug and a polishing of their ring.

Kraft: "I knew we'd get away with the balls, what's next Bill ?"
Belichick: "Fuc
k Bob you're gonna love this, I'm working on swapping out the chains so they're 2 inches shorter when we're on offense. We can blame the sideline officials or the groundskeepers or some stiff if we get caught. It's gonna be great. "

Yeah, this pretty much seals the deal regarding guilt or innocence for me, Pats won't appeal penalty.
Because you don't just roll over on giving up a 1st round pick, a 4th round pick and $1M if you're innocent .
