Uncle Selig set out a plan for replay. One challenge per team before the sixth inning and two after.August 16, 2013 at 07:48PM View formatted

I'm fine with it except for the part where they can't use the challenges when they want to. Why not just give the managers the 3 challenges and let them use them?August 17, 2013 at 10:05AM View BBCode
I don't even like the challenges at all, I think there should just be a neutral guy that goes "hey look at this replay, you got it wrong", and he's used as many times as necessary. How many calls do these guys miss in an average game, it shouldn't even come up that much, 3 challenges a game sounds like a lot to me.August 17, 2013 at 11:06PM View BBCode
they don't want the umpires to feel like they can't make any call at all and its going to be changed. if the manager thinks he saw it different and trusts what he thinks he saw, or if he trusts what his player tells him, he can use his challenge. if not, he can save it. it might even have the very positive side effect of ending the pointless arguing. if the manager comes out and raises hell the way they do now, the umpire can just say "use your challenge or go sit down and shut up." i dig it.August 18, 2013 at 01:58AM View BBCode
