Not, Banks and Yount were downgraded due to playing half of their careers at other positions. If I were ranking their entire careers Banks would be 3 and Yount 7

As it stands now, A-Rod has played ~1,250 games at shortstop in his career, and another 750 at third. So he's not past the magic 50/50 split yet, but he will be, barring something unforeseen, sometime during the 2012 season.

i feel the magic. i really do. i also believe this magic is going to transform bryan into something else before the day is done. we may even like the thing it becomes, it is uncertain.

Nice. But you forgot Augie Ojeda.

But ... are his five years at third a factor in your ranking? Because the door is closed on his career as a shortstop, or so it would seem. You are quite free to judge that phase of his career on its own merits, but counting his stats at third now but not later is just ... weird.

It isn't that I don't count Banks and Yount's stats at other positions, its just that I downgraded them a couple of slots because they didn't play full careers at SS

it is ok if we just hate ARod, right? it isn't our fault he went to play for the yankees, after all.

did you downgrade him (ARod) down a couple of slots from "Son of God"?

i believe your list missed david eckstien and spike owen, who were also not very tall. royce clayton is also far too blessed in height to be on this list, imo.

Candy Maldonado should be on this list, he had the best baseball name of all time, really.

I used to love Candy Maldonado because his first name was Candy and I loved candy so I loved Candy Maldonado.

I don't know. Do you love candy?

I love candy, but not the kind that is sweet, I can only have candy that isn't sweet. So, yes, I love candy, just not the sugary kind.

I have his autograph on a baseball card... but you probably don't want to be my friend.

I think that will do nicely. The glorious energy of our sun is my candy, for you see I am a house plant. A ficus tree. An indoor ficus tree.

Spike Owen is the censored man. And here is why: my dad and I showed up at the 2131 game without a ticket (trying to buy one), and after a long time of no one selling, spike owen's friend gave us tickets for free (tickets that he had gotten from spike owen). True story. second best short stop ever (if he did in fact play shortstop. or even if he didnt.)
